A low-carb diet limits carbs – for example, those found in vegetables and fruit. Instead, it emphasizes foods high in protein and fat. A low-carb diet is generally used for weight loss. Some low-carb diets may have health benefits reaching beyond weight loss, such as reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes. In general, a low-carb diet focuses on proteins and non-starchy vegetables. A low-carb diet generally limits fruits, breads, sweets, pastas and starchy vegetables. Some low-carb diet plans allow some amounts of fruits, vegetables and whole grains, as long as they are not consumed in large portions.



Tips for Weight Loss




To Eat: Any Meat, Fish, Eggs, non-starchy Vegetables (like lettuce) and Natural Fats (like butter)


Avoid: Sugar and starchy foods (like bread, rice, beans and potatoes)

· Sour cream

· Yogurt (full-fat, unsweetened)

· Blueberries (fresh or frozen)

· Nuts

· Fresh vegetables (greens, peppers, onions, etc.)

· Frozen vegetables (broccoli, carrots, various mixes)

· Condiments (pepper, garlic, mustard, etc.)


Ensure you have 3 meals a day and eat nutritious and vitamin rich food. Also make sure your protein intake is high. Protein plays a key role in weight loss and protects lean muscle mass, so that you only lose fat.
